Just a little tidbit I just saw on TV; they were wondering if moustaches are cool or simply 80's and they asked Vince if he likes them. He said No, he'd have to take care of it all the time and that he'd only do it for a movie role. Asked if women like it, if Jennifer Aniston likes it, he said, It's different. Some girls do and some girls don't.
Then they asked Jennifer if she likes them and she chuckles and says, I haven't seen any in a while.  |

In Swingers-speak, Vaughn is money, baby.
JIL DERRYBERRY: NOW that you're in the sequel to one of the biggest-grossing films of all time, do you feel you're also starring in The Vince Vaughn Story?
VINCE VAUGHN: No, It was such a quick ride from Swingers to The Lost World that there wasn't time to ask, "What does this mean?" Which is good. I try to stay in the moment, especially in situations I don't have control over.
JD: You never find yourself at some Hollywood party wondering, "What am I doing here?"
VV: My family was like the Beverly Hillbillies of Lake Forest, Illinois. My dad was the first generation off the farm and first in his family to graduate college, but I was never involved in the country clubs and debutant dances like most of the local kids were. Now when I'm at a premiere, or in one of those hotels I get to stay at, I don't take it literally. That was never my reason for getting into acting.
JD: How did you get started?
VV: My dad used to watch Westerns. Constantly. I'd watch with him and he'd have me act out all the parts. Then my more signed me up for the local community theater. My first paid job was a Chevrolet "Heartbeat of America" commercial. Steven [Spielberg] called me after he saw it and was very interested in me for the first Jurassic, but scheduling [sighs] didn't allow.
JD: Tough break. But as soon as you graduated high school, you left for Hollywood. What made you think you could pull it off?
VV: Just not real bright, I guess. But I had some money - national commercials pay way too much - and I figured, What the hell? Once I got to Los Angeles, I did a lot of TV and had a costarring role in Rudy [1993] that was cut to a few scenes in which I wore a football helmet. I told my parents, "I'm number forty-four. Trust me."
JD: Before The Lost World, you did The Locusts, in which you seduce Steven Spielberg's wife [actress Kate Capshaw]. Did that have anything to do with your getting to read for him?
VV: Steven wasn't even aware I was in The Locusts when I met with him. He came down to the set and there I was with my shirt off, strangling his wife. I thought, "Oh my God, there's no way I'm gonna get this movie."
JD: The Lost World is your first action film. Any injuries?
VV: No, but I really bought into the idea that the dinosaurs were alive. When they'd turn them off, I'd go, OK, they're just robots - but still I'd be thinking, There's something else going on here.
JD: The Barbara Walters question: If you were a dinosaur, what kind would you be?
VV: A brontosaurus. It's big but kind of peaceful - just kind of hanging out all day.
JD: And say you're marooned on a deserted island, like your Lost World character - who's the one person you wish you'd brought with you?
VV: My girlfriend.
JD: And what toy? Cars don't count.
VV: Gotta have the Sega. Spielberg and I used to play in between shots. Any kid could've kicked the hell out of either of us.

JF: Before that, however, audiences can see you The Prime Gig [due out in August], in which you play a telemarketer. What appealed to you about the role?
VV: My dad was a salesman and my mom did a lot of sales too-real estate and stocks and stuff-so it's a world I grew up in and one I was always fascinated by. And I liked the script, as well as the other actors involved: people like Ed Harris, Julie Arnold, Wally Shawn, and George Wendt.
JF: What profession did your dad want for you?
VV: My father came from nothing, so he believed that people could do anything if they worked hard enough. I think he liked that I chose to be an actor. Both he and my mom were totally supportive.
JF: Speaking of parenthood, Vince, what advice would you give to your son about sex?
VV: About what?
JF: About sex. If you had a son, what advice would you give to him?
VV: I would just tell him to handle it with class and be a gentleman and to enjoy himself.
JF: And what would you tell your daughter?
VV: Don't ever leave the house [ldots] No, I would say the same to her.
JF: All right Mr. Vaughn, let's close it up with a couple quick questions: If you were an animal, what would you be?
VV: I'd be a Favreau. That's what I'd be.
JF: Nice. I see. OK. And if you could costar with any actor in history, who would it be?
VV: I'd costar with Jon Favreau.
JF: As you do in the upcoming release Made. All right. Vince, I think that'll do it. I don't want any 2:00 A.M. phone calls saying "Could we take out that line, please?" Understand?
VV: You got it.
