According to this article -it will be showing on the 7th of August at the Providence Film Festival. If you read the article-they mixed up Jen and Andrea's Room 10 and Bryce Howard's Orchids.I've seen them both- they are great....

Do you think Room 10 could get an Oscar nomination for short film? How great would that be.

Shorts in season at festival
Rhode Island screenings could have Academy Award implications

By Leslie Brokaw | August 5, 2007

Actress Jennifer Aniston has moved to the other side of the camera: Her directorial debut (actually co-directorial; she shares credit with writer Andrea Buchanan) is a short called "Room 10," starring Robin Wright Penn as a nurse whose marriage is falling apart. The film apparently focuses less on the "why" and more on the "how to get past it," and in this case it comes from caring for a patient played by Kris Kristofferson.

The 18-minute film plays Tuesday at 7 p.m. as part of the opening-night festivities of the 11th annual Rhode Island International Film Festival. In a region rich with film fests, the RIIFF stands out as a go-to event. One reason is that it's among just 61 festivals internationally that are "qualifying" venues for short films for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences -- meaning that if a short plays there, it's eligible for an Oscar nomination. That status gives it good access to strong shorts. (Two nominees for last year's Academy Awards, Roger Allers's "The Little Matchgirl" and Leslie Iwerks's "Recycled Life," played the festival.)

Yay, you go Jen. That's really cool. And a nomination wouldn't hurt, who knows.

Room 10 has good chances to be nominated and I'd be glad if it was. I commented with friends (also Jen fans) when the film was still shooting that I truly believed it would get an Academy Award nominee for Short Films, but my hopes went down when it didn't got one on this years Oscars. That movie is too good to not be included.

Opening night features actresses as directors

International Film Festival begins its six-day run tonight at the Providence Performing Arts Center with a $100-a-ticket cocktail reception at 5 and a $35-a-ticket gala party in the lobby at 9. Sandwiched in between are screenings of seven short films (tickets for that are $15) on the giant screen, plus a movie-themed installation that will sit in the theaters foyer near the box office.Anistons Room 10, co-directed with Andrea Buchanan from Buchanans script, is a powerfully emotional piece starring Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson. I dare anyone who has ever been in love to watch Anistons 19-minute film and not come away with a tear in the eye.

Penn plays Frannie Jones, a harried nurse at a big-city hospital who is having problems in her marriage. In the middle of running around the ward to look in on patients, arguing with the staff and trying to keep a suicidal woman under control, Frannie checks in on a new patient in Room 10, an old woman who has a very short time left to live. When she looks in on the woman a short time later, the womans husband of 45 years (Kristofferson) is sitting by her side, holding her hand, trying to ease the womans way on her final journey.

What follows is a lovely exchange between Penn and Kristofferson as he lays out the life he has shared with this fragile dying woman, including many of the bad times that accompanied the good. Sometimes you just get tired of being married, he says wearily, something which touches a nerve in Frannie at that moment. And yet the love and tenderness he feels is made very real by Kristoffersons lovely, open performance.
His story moves Frannie to reassess her own life and marriage and it may do likewise with members of the audience. Its a solid piece of filmmaking and Aniston should be proud, as should her actors, who give natural performances.

I love that quote. I searched today for additional information on how it was received in Providence, but have found nothing yet. I wish I could see this film.

I was at the Rhode Island International Film Festival where it was playing.

It was fantastic one of the best last night. Kristofferson was brilliant.
