Aniston and Vaughn Do The Break Up
Source: The Hollywood Reporter March 17, 2005
Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn will star in Universal Pictures' The Break Up for director Peyton Reed (Bring It On, Down With Love). The comedy is set to begin filming in early June for a February release.
Jay Lavender and Jeremy Garelick are writing the script, which is based on an original idea by Vaughn.
Aniston's upcoming projects include Rumor Has It, Friends with Money and Derailed.
Next up for Vaughn are Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Wedding Crashers.

Thanks Audrey
I guess this is one of the '5 projects that may or may not happen' she mentioned in her interview.
I really don't think this sounds very interesting, just another run of the mill comedy. And i really don't like Vince. Hope this one won't get made. |

Thanks for posting. I'm not excited about this one 'cause it's comedy again but... we'll see...

Ugh! I am not thrilled with this news.
First off, I don't like Vince Vaughn. He's not exactly leading man material. More of a side kick kind of guy. And he seems to play the same guy again and again.
Jen! Quit with the romantic comedies for awhile.

THanks for the news.
I have the same feelings as many of you. Honestly, I didn't enjoy Down With Love much or Bring it On. They were both so typical..Unless this is romantic comedy beyond all the others I've seen, I don't have such high expectations.
I really really truly hope that she does WANTED. That sounds absolutely...fantasticc. |

She's just got such a great slate of films coming out, I'd hate to see her get stuck in another romantic comedy.
But, we don't that much about this yet. Mabye it's got a War of The Roses feel to it.
I just worry that Vince's humor is a lot like it's been in Old School and Dodgeball.

I got a copy of The Daily Variety from the gala tonight with a very important print on the back (an autograph pic of Hayden Christensen...lol). Anyways, they also have an article about this project.
'BREAK-UP' SETS MAKE-UP
By Dave McNary and Michael Flaming
Jennifer Aniston has committed to "The Break-up", joining Vince Vaugh in the Universal Pictures comedy.
Studio has set Peyton Reed to direct and earmarked a release date of Feb. 17. Production starts in June.
Pic has moved toward the starting line at a remarkable pace- U purchased the Jay Lavender-Jeremy Garelick script in a a $2 million spec buy only two months ago (Daily Variety, Jan. 17).
Vaugh, who helped hatch the idea for a film that covers the aftermath of a couple's break-up, brought the project to the studio and will be a producer. Lavender and Garelick will be co-producers. Project's overseen by Scott Stuber, the U vice chairman of world wide production who bought the script, and veep Scott Bernstein.
Reed previously directed the hit "Bring It On" for Universal, and Aniston has been a U good-lluck charm in comedies, starring for the studio in "Bruce Almighty" and "Along Came Polly." Thesp recently completeled "Rumor Has It" for Warner Bros. as well as the Dimension pic "Derailed," and she is currently starring in "Friends With Money." |

Well, then the only thing I can do now is hope that it has a lot of drama or something...

Well, I would lie if I said I wasn't excited. I happen to like romantic comedies. Sure there are a lot of bad ones out there but there are also other movies that are bad. Jen seems to choose wisely what films she wants to be a part of. So far I've loved all comedies she has been a part of. |

I think we can make this thread official now. And I heard this is scheduled to be released in February 2006; shooting starts June 2005.
You can delete my post if you want; since it's just an information/suggestion.
