Some news to know Ben better:
Quote:
Ben Affleck Speaks Out for Poor
Oscar-Winner Believes Global Poverty Should Be Priority
Actor Ben Affleck poses with members of the African Children's Choir while arriving for the One X One charity gala at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sept. 9, 2007. (J.P. Moczulski/CP/AP Photo)
The Oscar winner for "Good Will Hunting" is working with One Vote '08, urging presidential candidates from both parties to make global poverty a priority.
Affleck: I think people fundamentally, in America, recognize the basic core decency of, you know, when someone else is in terrible pain and suffering, reaching out a hand. When you have a billion people living on less than a dollar a day, you know that the right thing to do, the American thing to do, is lend a hand.
You know Franklin Roosevelt said, when he was talking about England being under attack before we got into the second World War, "When your neighbor's house is on fire, the least you can do is lend them a hose."
And as the world gets smaller and more interconnected, we need to be extremely smart and mindful about how the rest of the world is constructed and put together. And when we have failed states, when we have extreme poverty and we have terrible countries ravaged by disease, we have an unstable world. And an unstable world is terribly dangerous for us here in this country.
And ultimately dangers that are on faraway shores make their way to our shores. And that's not safe for us and it's not safe for our children. And what this organization wants to do is to make it safe for us and for our children.

H'wood fest honors Affleck, ConnellyBy Carly Mayberry
Sept 19, 2007
Oscar winners Ben Affleck and Jennifer Connelly along with "Hairspray" producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan have joined the roster of talent to be honored at the 11th annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony on Oct. 22 at the Beverly Hilton.
Affleck -- lauded for his directorial debut with "Gone, Baby, Gone" will receive this year's Hollywood Breakthrough Director of the Year Award. He joins his brother and co-honoree Casey Affleck, whom he directed in the film, and who will accept the ceremony's Hollywood Breakthrough Actor of the Year Award.
Connelly, who won an Academy Award in 2002 for her role in Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind," is being honored with the Hollywood Supporting Actress of the Year Award. Connelly next stars in Terry George's upcoming "Reservation Road" and provides her voice in Shane Ackner's animated film "9." She also stars in the forthcoming "He's Just Not That Into You" with Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck.

Gotta love Violet, what a cute and happy kid. She's adorable. It's funny, I became a 'fan' of hers before than of her parents. Now I like both more.
Thanks for all the pics. |

He was good in Hollywoodland, but I agree with you on many of his earlier films. Hopefully he's great in Not Into You. Ben and Jen look great together and seem to have nice chemistry. He called this role a "cameo" in his interview in Details. Hopefully there's more screen time for them than what I would consider a cameo. |

Again, with the blonde hair. It amazes me that the girl has blonde her and both her parents have dark hair (same with Coco and the Arquettes).
She looks really adorable. Her face in the first picture is just too cute.
I don't know who said it but I heard someone suggest him as a future President. I can't see him as a leader of a country. |

Ah my love for Ben goes back to the 90s. I think he is a decent actor and it's great he is starting to do more films now. I look foward to them.
Laura, genetics is a wonderful, mysterious thing. |
