I think this is something that doesnt even belong here. Not related to Jennifer and her producing in any way.
This thread is not for discussion about them or for bashing anyone. So anyone that is pushing for that, move on. End of discussion.
If anyone has anything to post about Jennifer's future producing projects. Feel free. |

Thank you. Anyway, in the EW article, they did Jen's interview in her offices, so am I right in assuming that she has officially set up her own production company? And for some reason I wanna say that Kristin Hahn is a part of that too. Also on The View I thought she mentioned several "producing" projects in the works. |

I dont know. Do you remember there was something awhile ago, someone saw something about a new production company and the name was related to Jennifer's birth date and they thought it might be related to her. I'd say you'd be right about Kristin's involvement in anything she did.
On The View, she said something about a few projects she had in the works that were from the production company. I dont know if she meant Plan B or something she's created herself. |

That was me, I think it was 211 productions or something. I'll see if I can find it again.

I'm sorry I've thought about this and it seems like a lot of people have had their say so here's mine. Jennifer was a part of Plan B when they bought the rights to this book. She wanted to be involved in this movie. Whether Brad , Angelina, and Marianne are better friends-I don't really care. It was very disrespectful to cast Angelina in this part. I would have rather seen Halle Berry(another Oscar winner) or Thandie Newton in Marianne's part. I just think with all the crap that Jennifer has had to deal with maybe a little respect would have been nice. But for those that said Jennifer didn't know or care about this project-I respectfully disagree. She has moved on but anyone would be hurt by this. I sincerely hope that she was able to keep the rights to The Time Traveler's Wife- they bought that together too. Should be interesting to see how that turns out. Hopefully she won't get ****** again.I'm not bashing- I just wanted to say this- now I feel better.
Oh and before I forget- Jennifer was a producer for Running with Scissors and The Departed but she's been dropped from Running with Scissors now according to IMDB and Yahoo. Let's see what happens with The Departed now. Plan B helped make both of those movies..... |

| I think pretty much all actors have some type of office producer or not. If you read the first page of the Wanted thread you will see that Wanted was mention in connection to Plan B. Dont know if that is still the case. |

| The only thing that baffles me about it is the resemblance issue. Have you seen Marianne Pearl? I think that should be taken into consideration when you're casting an actor to play a real person, not just acting skills. Jennifer wasn't right for it either. Brad Pitt, as the producer, casting either one of them as Marianne is just nepotism. |

I never expected Jennifer to actually play Marianne for that very reason. While I think Angelina can play such a strong woman, I totally agree with Lili. Halle Berry, for example, would have been much better. Or at least, would have made more sense. |

I agree that someone else who resembles her should have been chosen but an actor can be made over.
Anyway this is from Newsweek. The writing style is more tabloid than Newsweek

Jolie's New Role Is a Gem. Just Ask Jen.
Angelina already has her man. Now she's got Jennifer Aniston's movie, too. Jolie is set to play Mariane Pearl in "A Mighty Heart," Pearl's biography of her late husband, Wall Street Journal reporter Danny Pearl, who was murdered by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002. Once upon a happier time, Aniston and Brad Pitt bought the rights to the book for their company, Plan B. Now he's still a partner in the company, but she isn't. Did Jen once hope to play Pearl herself? Pitt's spokeswoman says no; Aniston's says no comment. The author herself has no regrets. "I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role," Pearl said. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to." Good thing Pitt has such good taste in leading ladies.
Go figure that out of all the stupid things that should have been answered with no comment, they say no comment to this. |

His spokesperson isn't speaking for Jen, she just replied the question of whether Jen was supposed to play Mariane and Jen's people said "No comment" |

Actually I beg to differ.

Sounds like she's speaking for Jen to me. |

Us weekly website had this
An Oscar-worthy role that was intended for Jennifer Aniston has been given to Angelina Jolie. It was announced Thursday that Jolie, 31, will play Mariane Pearl in a film adaptation of her book, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl. Mariane is the widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped and murdered while covering a story in Pakistan in 2002. Brad Pitt will produce the film, directed by Michael Winterbottom.
Pitt and Aniston, who co-owned the production company Plan B, bought the rights to the book when they were still married, with the idea that Jen would star in the film adaptation. Jen ceded her stake in the company after the couple divorced in 2005, leaving Pitt to cast his baby-mama in the starring role.
Mariane Pearl, who is believed to have visited Pitt and Jolie during their stay in Nambia, said in a statement: I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book. I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to.
A Mighty Heart is the first on-screen role Jolie has accepted since the birth of daughter Shiloh Nouvel, born in Namibia in May. Last week she agreed to lend her voice to a tiger in the animated film Kung Fu Panda, also starring Jack Black.
than people had thisAngelina Jolie will play Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, in a movie produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B production company, Pitt has confirmed to PEOPLE.
"The film will focus on the deep collaboration between people around the world in search of Daniel in 2002," Pitt tells PEOPLE. "We hope the film can increase understanding between people of all faiths and portray the story and the people involved as honestly as possible without anger or judgment."
Contrary to reports claiming that Pitt's ex, Jennifer Aniston, was earlier cast as Mariane Pearl, a rep for Pitt and Jolie tells PEOPLE, "Jennifer was never attached to that role. When the project was first brought to Plan B, Jen was a partner in the company at the time." Pitt has been developing the project with Mariane Pearl for two years.
The film will be adapted from Pearl's memoir, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl, which chronicles her experience after her husband was abducted by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in early 2002. A month later, his captors released a video depicting his murder.
Pearl, a French journalist, was pregnant when her husband was kidnapped and gave birth to their son Adam in May of that year.
"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Pearl said in a statement released Thursday by Paramount Vintage. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."
The film will start shooting in the fall. It is Jolie's first dramatic role since the May 27 birth of her daughter with Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel.
Earlier this week it was reported that Jolie will lend her voice to the DreamWorks animated feature Kung Fu Panda, in the role of Tigress, a martial arts teacher. The film, due next May, also stars Jack Black. |

| The bottom line is Jennifer thought that she had a shot at the role but Pitt and Jolie thought otherwise. But it did sound like Pitt's spokeperson was speaking for Jennifer. Cindy probably should have phrased it differently to reflect Brad's opinion and not Jennifer's. Oh, and People carried the first article that TMZ had until Pitt's spokeperson corrected them. Then it looked like what US Weekly has now too. |
