I saw The Good Girl for the first time a couple days ago, and liked it a lot! The acting was great all around, and it really showed Jennifer's range as an actress. Jake Gyllenhaal was awesome, you really got in the head of someone extemely depressed. I wish I jumped on the boat when the movie came out, but oh well, better late than never I guess. Now I'm really looking foward to seeing "Friends with Money" and now I gotta go see Brokeback Mountain. Thoughts on this movie?

This movie is by FAR my favorite Jen movie. I just love it to death.
(TBU is of course second, maybe just for her crying scene.. because I burst into tears when I saw it.. but anways..) Anything with Jen and Jake can't be anything less than wonderful, and this was beyond that IMO. love1

I agree with both of you ! this is my fave one and it's also the reason why I became a fan =) ! I had just read The Catcher In The Rye when I first saw this movie and I loved this book ! it was weird to hear about that book in a movie just after reading it ... I hope you understood what I meant ! lol

The movie is excellent and Jennifer is stunning in this role
She really deserved her first Oscar nomination for this movie

I love The Good Girl, I like how its serious but funny at the same time. I couldn't help but laugh when Justine was giving Holden the blackberries. I do think it was kind of sad in a way because things when wrong... i don't think Justine meant for Holden to end up the way he did.

Jenn was nominated for Oscar... wow i never knew that who won in the end?

I haven't been able to see The Good Girl yet because my parents don't really like me watching R rated movies, but I'm hoping to catch it soon! Jake is my favorite actor, so I can't wait to see him with Jen!

Unfortunately, she wasn't actually nominated for an Oscar for TGG; however, she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award, but Julianne Moore won that year.

Wow, really? There's nothing I could laugh about in that scene. Shivers ran down my spine in that one. And not the good kind. The first time I watched it, I was seriously shocked. Just as much as I was shocked about what Bubba wanted from her. Yuck.

WOW I watched the deleted scenes and I have to say the last one is my fave I think if that was included in the film people might of felt sympathetic more so towards her, it is a bit of a shame I feel that it wasn't included because Jen was really great.

The Alternative ending was also really good I think that again should of been included

Jennifer Aniston: 'The Good Girl'

Aniston in "The Good Girl"

(InStyle) -- In "The Good Girl," Jennifer Aniston strays from her trendy It Girl image to play dowdy discount store cashier Justine.

Stuck in a nowhere job and married to a deadbeat, Justine is dealing with blues deeper than her relaxed-fit denim jeans. So when she sees a soul mate and sexual escape in the new checkout boy Holden (Jake Gyllenhaal), she chooses passion over piety, no matter how reckless the romance.

"She's an intelligent, warm-hearted woman, but she finds love in all the wrong places," says makeup artist Carol Schwartz, who gave Aniston a pretty but ordinary look to suit her character's small-town Texas life. "Justine works behind the cosmetics counter, but I didn't want to make her look like she's at a Chanel counter," says Schwartz. "She's selling cheap stuff."

To transform Aniston's straight Rachel hair into Justine's wavy, deconstructed do, hairstylist Daniel Curet used products that left her locks looking a little dull and matte. "We wanted to break away from her "Friends" look," says Curet. "We didn't want her hair to be shiny because it would read too styled."

To give her a casual, "not so polished" look, Curet first applied TIGI Bed Head Uptight Heat Activated Curl Maker to Aniston's damp tresses and then scrunched hair with his hands. Next he used double-thong clips to crimp and separate her locks. "Nothing too formed and defined," he says. After adding some more spray and diffusing hair dry he applied KMS Hair Play Molding Paste. Finally, he pulled hair back into a ponytail, folding it underneath into a messy bun.

For a natural look, Schwartz simply swept a light coat of MAC eye shadow in Shroom on Aniston's lids. Then using MAC Cr鑝e liner in dark brown she drew a thin line, very lightly flicked up at the corner, along the top lash lines. To balance out her eyes, she first dotted then softly smudged MAC Shroom on the bottom lash lines using a tiny brush. The final touch: L'Or閍l Lash Out mascara in black applied to top lashes only, to keep her from looking too "va-voom."

Face
"I tried to keep her as low-key as possible," says Schwartz of Justine's unglamorous look. "I wanted her to look a little tired and washed-out, so I didn't use a lot of corrective makeup under her eyes." Schwartz began with Clinique Balanced Makeup Base in Honeyed Beige, a medium-beige foundation that complemented Aniston's tanned skin, followed by a dusting of Chanel Natural Finish Translucent pressed powder. For a slight dewy glow, she dabbed cheek apples with Lorac Sheer Wash in Sheer Luck, a translucent rose color. Says Schwartz, "It's very sheer and natural, and gave her just a hint of color."

After moisturizing lips with Kiehl's Baby lip balm, Schwartz used a brush to line Aniston's lips with Chanel Face Colour Pencil in Muscat. "It's a lovely natural pink color," says Schwartz. She then dotted on more color and blended with the brush "so you're not aware that the lips are lined."
