I'm so glad I stuck with it b/c I was ready to give up after the first episode. Now I'm hooked. I love it and really hope it comes back next year.

I think I may have figured out the season finale but I am not sure. Thank God that Perez was only on about 15 seconds. I was a little suprised for some reason about last night's show ending. Do not know why when it should have been obvious.

I wish I would have started watching in the first place, but I didn't! Now I'm going to have to watch at the last minute, then cross my fingers and toes that I can somehow watch all the older episodes.

Five Life to screen Cox's serial
Digital station Five Life is to screen former Friends star Courteney Cox's US TV series Dirt this summer.

The show, which sees Cox play a Hollywood tabloid magazine editor, is said to "expose the dark underside of Los Angeles' glamorous lifestyle".

A spokeswoman for Five said the programme "fits better on a specialist channel", but did not rule out an airing on its main terrestrial station.

The network's digital offshoots, Five Life and Five US, launched in October.

Caked in mud

Dirt is made by ABC Television Studio in the US and airs on cable channel FX, where it ranks as the top-rating show in its regular Tuesday night slot.

The first season of 13 episodes included guest slots for Cox's former Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston - which will air in the US on 27 March - and her husband David Arquette.

Aniston played one of Cox's rivals in the show.

Cox's character is Lucy Spiller, whose photographer Don Konkey - played by British actor Ian Hart - provides shocking images of the Hollywood glitterati and takes the glamour out of Tinseltown.

As a publicity stunt for the show, the 42-year old actress, who played Monica in Friends, was photographed caked in mud.

I didn't think it was doing so well in the ratings. Good news.

HERE'S THE 'DIRT'
TABLOID QUEEN CAUGHT CANOODLING
By PAIGE ALBINIAK
March 25, 2007 -- Someone give Joey Tribbiani a front-row seat. After years of begging and pleading, Monica and Rachel are finally going to kiss!

Longtime Friends Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston are going to get up close and personal in the finale of F/X's tabloid tale, "Dirt," airing Tuesday, at 10 p.m.

Aniston plays Tina Harrod, a rival tabloid editor to Cox's Lucy Spiller.

Harrod is a lesbian with a partner and children and knows Spiller, who is childless and married to her job, from their early career when, they used to work together as stringers for the Post. Even though the women are still friendly, Spiller is threatened by Harrod - especially when she finds her seated in the office of Dirt's publisher.

Harrod tries to assure Spiller that she's not after her job, but with sales down slightly at the magazine, rumors are flying that Spiller is about to be let go.

Sounds like there are enough fireworks to keep both actresses happy. But the show's creators and executive producers are doing everything they can to downplay the kiss.

"People should tune into to see Jennifer Aniston for every reason but the kiss," says Cox. "We do kiss on the show, but it's not a big deal. I think you've seen a kiss like this on Friends. In fact, we have, between Aniston and girl-gone-shoplifting Winona Ryder, who played something of a stalker during an episode in the shows seventh season.

But Cox's co-executive producer Matthew Carnahan, still thinks the kiss is "kind of hot." Says Carnahan, who wrote and directed the episode, "Dirt"'s last for the season, "If people are looking for hot girl-on-girl action, they are going to be disappointed."

Still, when news of the Cox-Aniston lip-lock got out, it spread like wildfire. Carnahan says: "My guess is that somebody on set said something to somebody. It's such a porous environment. And we know that given the subject matter that we write about every day."

Cox says it was Aniston's idea to come on "Dirt." "[Jennifer and I] were watching the pilot and she said, 'It looks like you are having so much fun.

Id love to do the show.'

"She's also one of my closest friends so it was great to work together again," Cox says.

Whether Aniston's role becomes recurring depends on two things: whether she'd be willing to do it and whether the show, which critics have savaged, gets renewed. That second point has yet to be decided.

"We'll put Jennifer in every episode she'll consider being in," says Carnahan.

In fact, having Cox and her husband, David Arquette, involved as executive producers has given the show access to some interesting guest stars, including Paul Reubens as washed-up crime reporter Chuck LaFoon and Vincent Gallo as a former child star who takes the Dirt Now offices hostage.

"All our guest stars are incredible actors. We're not stunt-casting people because they've been on 'Dancing with the Stars.' As far as whether their name value helps bring in viewers, I don't know."

Cox and Carnahan swear that none of "Dirt'"s storylines are ripped from the headlines, but that doesn't mean they don't draw inspiration from the media melees surrounding the death of pin-up Anna Nicole Smith or Britney's baldness.

"We'll start with something roughly like something that's happened in so-called reality and then we'll give it some kind of crazy twist," says Carnahan. "We're not doing a ripped-from-the-headlines show like 'Law & Order, but we might like the theme that one story suggests or the plot of another. It's a grab bag of ideas. Every day, the tabloids are just really good."

Do you enjoy "The Riches"? Can't get enough "Dirt"? ("Dirt" is the show with Courteney Cox, pictured, acting so unfriendly as a Tinseltown editor.)

You're in luck. FX has renewed both dramas. And the cable network also will start "Damages," a drama with Glenn Close as a big-time ligitator, on July 24. The drama will air at 10 p.m. Tuesdays. The cast includes Ted Danson, Tate Donovan, Rose Byrne and eljko Ivanek.

"Rescue Me," with Denis Leary, returns June 13 and will play at 10 p.m. Wednesdays.

In other FX news:

"Nip/Tuck" starts its fifth season in the fall.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" begins its third season in September.

The reality series "30 Days" will return late this year.

"The Riches" ends it first season June 4. That drama and "Dirt" will return next year.

"The Shield" ends its season June 5. It will be back for its seventh and final season next year.

Also from ET!!!

Courteney Back for More 'Dirt'

May 08, 2007
Series star and executive producer Courteney Cox will be back for more "Dirt."

FX marks the spot for a behind-the-scenes look at the world of wickedly entertaining celebrity gossip.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COURTENEY COX is keeping the FX network up to its neck in "Dirt."

The former "Friends" star will continue her streak as the loathsome yet loveable tabloid editor Lucy Spiller for the hit new series. She also serves as the show's executive producer.

It was also announced that the network's other freshman series "The Riches" -- starring EDDIE IZZARD and MINNIE DRIVER as a couple who assume the identity of a deceased husband and wife -- will also return next season.

And FX also will debut another original series, "Damages," to its line-up on July 24. The legal drama will feature five-time Oscar nominee GLENN CLOSE in her first regular TV series.
