Aniston to star in 'Management'
Zahn will also topline romantic comedy
By MICHAEL FLEMING
Talk Back - post a comment
Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn will star in "Management," a romantic comedy that marks the feature directing debut of playwright-screenwriter Stephen Belber.
Pic will be financed by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment; Temple Hill partners Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are producing.
Aniston will play a traveling saleswoman who sells cheap art to small companies and motels. She has a fling with an aimless, underachieving assistant motel manager (Zahn) at one of her stops, and he pursues her all over the U.S.
Belber wrote the script with the intention of directing it and enlisted Godfrey and Bowen, who are currently producing an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel "Dear John" that will star Channing Tatum.
Kimmel will distribute through his deal at MGM. Jim Tauber and William Horberg will exec produce.

| I hope it won't be made. The other projects (like "Wanted", "you are here") are so much more interesting than that. And to be onest, I'm sorry but I think that this movie can't be a blockbuster and Jen really need to do successful movies. |

| As far as I am concerned, as long as the movies anyone makes earns more than it's budget, it's a winner! To me, there are really very few blockbusters. They are mostly action films, children's films, etc. There are no women who can carry a movie into blockbuster status by themselves and I don't think that should be the goal. I like quirky, witty or serious movies and I don't think they have to be a blockbuster for me and many other people to enjoy. They don't act by themselves and it takes many things to turn a movie into a huge success. A movie like Knocked Up was a surprise big hit becuase it was unexpected, funny and had many enjoyable characters, not just one character/actor. Aniston should make movies that sound like fun to her and enjoy her career whatever direction it takes her. |

| I just want to see her working and then paps can at least focus on pics of her on set instead of speculating on her private life. |

Sounds good. I liked it. Jennifer and Steve will be great together on screen, I can't wait to see it.
I don't think every single movie is made to be a blockbuster. Jen's movies have made money and this one won't be different. |

I think this has a feel of an Indie-she's great in those. The guy that is directing and wrote the script is very well known and very respected. He's done a lot of things on Broadway too.
I have to put my faith in Jennifer on choosing this movie. She's taken her time to get involved in a movie so it must be a great script.Zahn is so funny too. This will be great!!!
Found this-I deleted part of the the title for it. I have my reasons...

ROLE CALL Time to get all starry-eyed again. Although word from the Oregon Film and Video office is "we cannot officially comment on that," Scoop's heard a major motion picture project will soon begin filming both in Portland and Central Oregon . That's fresh off the heels of Diane Lane's Untraceable. According to Variety, which just announced the film project today, the title of the film is Management .
A romantic comedy by first time director Stephen Belber, the big name stars connected to it so far are Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn (don't you think they'll fit right in at Doug Fir and Saucebox?) According to Variety, "Aniston plays a traveling saleswoman who sells cheap art to small companies and motels..." (sounds like home to us). |

| In case you don't know who he is, Steve Zahn was in Object of My Affection and on an episode of Friends. He was really funny in Daddy Day Care too. |

From Us Weekly:
Quote: Aniston To Go Door to Door
Jennifer Aniston is sticking to her trend of playing untrendy. From a waitress in Office Space to a store clerk in The Good Girl and a housekeeper in Friends With Money, this Hollywood hottie consistently hides her style on-screen.
Her latest movie, romantic comedy Management, is no exception. According to Variety Aniston, 38, will play a traveling saleswoman who pedals cheap art to motels. On a sales call, she meets a motel manager played by funny man Steve Zahn. They have a fling, he falls in love, and decides to follow her all over the country. Because nothing says romance like a little stalking!
Though Aniston hasn't been seen in theatres since 2006 flick The Break-Up, she is currently in development or production on movies The Senator's Wife, Wanted and The Goree Girls. |

From E! on line.....
Jennifer Aniston Promoted to Management
by Natalie Finn
Fri, 3 Aug 2007 06:45:07 PM PDT
Jennifer Aniston is trading in her office space for the open road.
The actress has signed on to star as a traveling saleswoman in the comedy Management, which will mark the directing debut of The Laramie Project scribe Stephen Belber, who also penned the film's screenplay.
According to Variety, Aniston's character sells cheap generic artpieces of flair, if you willto nondescript businesses and motels. Steve Zahn is set to play the slacker motel manager she has a one-night stand with who ends up following her all over the country.
Although he was already an established playwright, things started falling into place for Belber in Hollywood after he shopped his script for the upcoming newscaster-talks-to-God flick The Power of Duff. Jamie Foxx is attached to star. He has also collaborated on episodes of Rescue Me and Law & Order:SVU.
In addition to The Laramie Project, which dealt with the aftermath of the murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard and was later made into an HBO film, Belber wrote the stage drama Tape, which dialogue-happy Richard Linklater adapted for the big screen in 2001 with a cast consisting entirely of Ethan Hawke, Robert Sean Leonard and Uma Thurman.
Zahn can currently be seen in theaters costarring as an escaped POW in the Werner Herzog nail-biter Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale. Up next for the 39-year-old character actor is the comedy Strange Wilderness, in theaters next January, about a few animal lovers who head to the Andes in search of Bigfoot. Zahn will also appear in the CBS miniseries Comanche Moon, based on the Larry McMurtry novel.
As for Aniston, her last cinematic romp, 2006's The Break-Up, was a big hit at the box office but may have ended up hitting a little too close to home. It's unlikely that the actress will find much art reflecting life in the upcoming slate of projects she's reportedly attached to, however, which includes the prison-break thriller Wanted, The Senator's Wife and the Coen Brothers caper Gambit.
Earlier this year, Aniston returned to prime-time for the first time since Friends ended in 2004, to play a rival editor to Courteney Cox's tabloid-dish diva on FX's Dirt.
The 38-year-old Emmy winner will also executive-produce, and possibly star in, the period musical Goree Girls, a true story about eight women locked up in a Texas penitentiary in the 1940s who form one of the first-ever all-female country-western groups. |

| The new issue of Ok! Weekly features a write-up on Management. They quote a representative of the production company as saying filming is slated to start in September. |
