So, basically this person didn't like the editing of the whole movie and the way the story is told, huh? Hoping for better reviews to come. You never know what the movie makers make out of the movie after having shot it, so I hope this is just one guy's (or girl's) opinion.

Scott Stuber sticking with Universal
Studio extends first-look deal to 2013
By MARC GRASER

Scott Stuber is staying put at Universal Pictures through 2013.
U has extended its first-look deal with Stuber Prods., the shingle formed by the studios former vice chair of worldwide production. Shingle is getting ready to unspool the laffer Role Models this weekend, starring Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott.

Stuber Prods., which recently brought former Paramount exec Pam Abdy on board, has a number of other high-profile pics on Us upcoming slate, including a redo of The Wolfman, starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins; the sci-fi thriller Repossession Mambo; Traveling, with Aaron Eckhart, Jennifer Aniston and Martin Sheen; and comedy Couples Retreat, with Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau.

Studio chairman Marc Shmuger called Stuber a longtime friend of Universal, and the extension of our partnership is a true sign of our commitment to continue making great films together.

U inked a five-year pact with Stuber/Parent Prods., the shingle formed by Stuber and vice chairman of production Mary Parent when the duo ankled the studio in 2005.

Their first pic, the laffer You, Me and Dupree, bowed in 2006, with The Kingdom, Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins and The Break-Up following.

Parent is now chairman of MGM.

Such roles tend to get Eckhart more recognition in award competitions than in the pages of Us Weekly. The photography buff far prefers taking photos to appearing in them. Still, the U.K.'s Daily Mail had him involved with Catherine Zeta-Jones on the set of their 2007 romantic comedy No Reservations. And more recently the Daily Mail reported he had taken up with Jennifer Aniston, his co-star in the upcoming Traveling. (Neither one true, he says.)

In the "romantic dramedy," Eckhart plays a grief counselor who, upon his wife's death, tours the country giving seminars. He and Aniston meet and fall in love but only on-screen.

"I was so happy when she agreed to do the movie," he says. "I can see why she is who she is."

And why "she gets mobbed all the time. One of these days I might make a move and date someone famous just to see what it's like."

But you've done comedy before. How was this different?

"This is a more physical comedy. I want to be funny in this movie physically. I mean, it's not an attractive role. I'm not really playing a lead man in it. There's a lot of danger in it. You're making fun of yourself. You're getting in a Speedo. You're shaving your body. You're eating chocolate.

"Then you have to say, Well, who's going to give me a chance to play this role? Are we going to do this for 50 million dollars for awards?' Probably not. Do I want to go out and try something like that?' Yeah.

"This happens every single week. A small bill will come out where you'll have an actor who plays an unexpected character in a role. I think it's great. It's a way of refreshing ourselves. And I think that the public gains a quiet confidence in the actor. And next time he comes out in an action movie or a stupid romantic comedy,' they just get a little bit of extra credence. A lot of these movies are what made our careers, too. Sometimes we're most remembered for those charming little movies - like Juno. Juno is still a really small movie. I had the same issues with Jason - all sorts of questions. What are you going to do? I have to play this role. It just happened with another movie. I just finished two and half months of a movie called Traveling with Jennifer Aniston. I had to play that character. There was no ifs ands or buts about it. And I was not first on that list. But we made it. We did it. Granted, it was a bigger budget. And it was with a studio."

Speaking of making movie, Aaron Eckhart just wrapped filming the chick-flick "Traveling" alongside Jennifer Aniston and seemed to be very smitten by the former "Friend."

"Jennifer is a peach, shes such a wonderful amazing woman to work with," Eckhart gushed. "Her reputation is well justified."

Besides Sexhart, is E! Online trying to give Aaron a new nick - Eck-hon? Hmm!

Eckhart's Sweet Nothings on Aniston (source: E! Online - Click for more )

Aaron Eckhart, what a babe, huh? Well, The Dark Knights White Knight is just that in real life, so it seems. We asked the chiseled actor what it was like working with gossip girl Jennifer Aniston in their new movie, Traveling, which A.E. himself calls a total chick flick.

Says Eck-hon: It was wonderful; she was awesome to work with. Good friend, sweet girl, total pro. She has just a heart of gold, and I totally enjoyed the experience.

Source.
I thought this was interesting because I didn't think it would be a total chick flick. But I don't know Eckhart enough to know what he considers a chick flick, so I'll wait and see.

The way he describes the film confuses me. I thought at it was more of a drama?

^ I thought so, too. Maybe he has seen the result now and they turned it more into a romantic drama? Just really confusing because I was convinced it was a drama although with a romantic touch to it because of the plot.

This is what I was basing my opinions on. I was thinking drama.

Quote:
Variety claim the movie to be a serious drama so dont expect any Rom-Com softly-softly touches like Eckhart suddenly falling for this new love and it all being plain sailing with touches of light humour and slapstick comedy.

This actually promises to be quite dark with some similar sounding themes to that of Vertigo. Will Eckhart like Jimmy Stewart try and make this new love dress, walk and talk like his dead lover?

I thought the plot was basically he tries to change Jennifer's character into a resemblance of his deceased wife. No?

Exactly. But maybe he refers to it as a chick flick because it's very The Notebook? That movie ain't for macho guys. All about love.

Also, the last film he did was 'the Dark Knight.' The most manly of manly movies. This movie probably does feel like a chick flick in comparison to that.

Aaron Eckhart on choosing projects:

"I take movies because when Im reading the script I can see myself as that character doing those things and feel like I want to do those things; Certainly to the challenges in this movie of trying to make this guy a human being. I mean that, as an actor, is a challenge in creating empathy and doing these things. Im saying to myself, I can do this. I want to try to do this. So in terms of choosing the biggest hits - I mean I havent done that. So thats probably not my priority. I always feel like I have enough good material with good people to work with. Ive never felt like I was out of the game, because I dont put that kind of pressure on myself. Theres a lot I want to do. I dont always get the scripts I want to do and sometimes I do get them, like Thank You For Smoking or this movie I have coming out called Traveling, with Jennifer Aniston. Those were two roles when I read them I said, I will do these movies for nothing. I have to do these movies because the characters are so right for me."

I think I heard Jen saying that it comes out in April. I think it was in a Marley and Me interview.
