Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead
At Downtown Manhattan Residence

NEW YORK -- Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in what authorities say is a possible drug-related death, the NYPD said. He was 28.
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press that Mr. Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment that is believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Mr. Ledger know the masseuse was there, and found him dead at 3:26 p.m, Mr. Browne said.
The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Mr. Ledger and Ms. Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.
Mr. Ledger's roles include the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball" and had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot." He was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins."

| This is so sad, i mean 28 , i pray God gives that little girl strength she deserved to know her dad. Rest in peace what he pobably craved all his life and cold not find. |

This is so sad. He was such a fine actor-loved him in Brokeback Mountain..From all reports he was a great father to Matilda. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.May he rest in peace.  |

| I couldnt believe the news when I heard it. Heath is the second young actor to have died in the past week or so. Brad Renfro was just laid to rest a day or two ago as well ..... may they both rest in piece. |

| I'm shocked by this sad news. Because Heath was a local, the coverage has been pretty wide and it's heartbreaking to watch, especially seeing his family standing outside their home, confirming his death. It's very sad and my heart goes out to his family and friends, especially his baby girl Matilda. |

I'm having a hard time figuring this out, it didn't hit me yet...I'm such a huge fan! A friend of mine saw the news and immediately contacted me, it ruined my day.
My heart goes out for little Matilda, she's so young and is going to grow up without her dad's figure; he had so much to give and teach, it's so sad! His family is on my thoughts and prayes. He'll never be forgotten. |

What i have learnt over the last year is that death painful as it is, you just feel the person is finally at peace , and it is such an humbling experience, And with time you move on but what would have been would stick with you.
I am just grateful that little girl as so much love around her bcos that is what would get her through. |
