Owen Wilson Moving To Woody Harrelson�s EcoVillage In Hawaii

Seems all that time Owen Wilson spent recuperating with buddy Woody Harrelson is having a big effect. The 39-year-old actor went through a rough time last summer after being hospitalized for a suicide attempt. Several months later, he resurfaced with Harrelson in Peru, roughing it and enjoying some time helping at an orphanage and chilling at an eco-friendly spiritual center called the Hanaq Pacha Retreat Center.
Now, In Touch is reporting that Wilson is making plans to move to the same sustainable, solar-powered community in Hawaii as enjoyed by Woody. From the article,

When the 39-year-old actor spent a week visiting good pal Woody Harrelson in Maui starting on August 7, he fell in love with the tropical paradise � and the environmentally friendly lifestyle. Woody lives in a completely solar-powered, sustainable community featuring organic farming. �It�s 100 percent green living,� says an insider. �Owen likes it so much that he made an offer on a home there.� Owen�s 2004 film, The Big Bounce, was set in Hawaii.
How do you like that? I�m not necessarily one for Ecovillages, but Hawaii would be a great place to try one out! It�s great to see Owen moving beyond the troubles that plagued him last year and embracing a green, sustainable lifestyle. Good luck!

Don't tell Garcia, but Owen has had dogs around him since childhood. "I felt like in a way I have been preparing my whole life for the role [in Marley & Me] because we grew up with family dogs," he says. From Nutmeg the dalmatian to Duke the golden retriever, dogs have been a big part of the Wilson family since Owen was just a boy.
Owen's dog-loving parents even make a cameo in Marley & Me. While Owen says his mom was a little nervous, his dad felt right at home. "My dad kind of was a little bit cocky�like right after his first take he said to me, 'Is it too early to say a star is born?'" Owen jokes.

Bob Thompson: Owen Wilson rebounds with Marley & Me
Owen Wilson seemed happy and healthy at the Four Seasons Hotel Saturday promoting his new romantic comedy Marley & Me with Jennifer Aniston.
The film and his press conference marked a return for Wilson after his alleged suicide attempt in August of 2007. Reports suggested he was in difficulty when his brother and actor Luke Wilson found him in his Santa Monica home.
Owen Wilson was rushed to the hospital that day and recovered. And Saturday he appeared to be his usual sardonic and friendly self during the Q & A with reporters. Ironically, it was the same hotel that reporters had spoken to Wilson's ex-girlfriend Kate Hudson on Friday as Hudson was doing press for her new film Bride Wars.
Wilson's break up with Hudson is cited as one of the reasons he became despondent. Although the actor does have a history battling substance abuse problems.
For now that's all behind him as he discussed working opposite Aniston and with the many dogs in Marley & Me, which opens on Christmas Day. The movie is based the bittersweet best-selling John Grogan book about the 13 years Grogan's family grew up with the Labrador Retriever, Marley.
So yes the comedy-drama is a family friendly tear-jerker that deals with real issues and great deal of emotion as the dog near's the end of his life. But Wilson said he thinks kids are up to the challenge. "I think adults under-estimate children all the time," said the 40-year-old.
In fact, Wilson admitted he worried that "he might have to use fake tears" when he did some of the more emotional moments at the conclusion of the picture. In the end, he didn't need them.
"There's something about the story that has universal appeal and is very relateable," said Wilson who plays author Grogan who wrote about his dog Marley in a newspaper column. His subsequent memoir became a huge hit domestically and internationally seven years ago.
