The Dish Rag by Elizabeth Snead
Will Owen Oscar party before going back to work?
Great news! Owen Wilson's going back to work! He's slated to start shooting "Marley and Me," with Jennifer Aniston in March. The film is the heartwarming true story of a newspaper columnist and his wife who adopt an amazing dog.
Hope the amazing dog thing works out for them.
But Wilson's also showing up on this week's Oscar party circuit.
As a matter of fact, he's currently on the guest list for Nicolas Berggruen's cocktails and dancing pre-Oscar party at the Chateau Marmont tomorrow night, along with the likes of Ryan Haddon, Honor Fraser, Peter Morton, Amanda Demme, designer Maz Azria, Brent Bolthouse, Brooke & Blake Davenport, Larry Gagosian, photog Patrick McMullan, Gwen McCaw, Lynda and Stewart Resnick, Jason Pomeranc, Alexander Von Furstenberg, Ben Silverman. |

Owen Wilson's Night Out in Hollywood
Categories: movies, parties
Owen Wilson is back.
Not only has he just signed on to star in a romantic comedy opposite Jennifer Aniston, but last night he hit the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood for a blowout bash thrown for about 600 people by French businessman Nicolas Berggruen.
Wilson, dressed casually in a flannel shirt, and a blond woman arrived around 11:30, when the bash was already in full force. As he walked into the lobby, two more women joined him.
Partygoers embraced Wilsonliterally. Los Angeles Confidential magazine publisher Jason Binn gave him a bear hug, as did several women. Rebecca De Mornay squealed with delight when she spotted him. Ooowen, how are you? she cooed in his ear as she wrapped her arms around him. At one point, he and a woman playfully bantered about the fruit on a stick Wilson was eating. Want some? Wilson said, before feeding her a piece of honeydew.
Wilson also hung out at the bash with his pals Woody Harrelson and Entourage star Adrian Grenier. He stayed around until about 1 a.m, but Im told he asked that his photo not be taken (that's an old photo you see above).
Other boldface names who crammed into the lobby and garden area included Matthew Perry, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Daryl Hannah, Tom Arnold, Shane West, Linda Evangelista and her Hard Rock Cafe cocreator boyfriend Peter Morton, Russell Simmons, Joan Collins, industry heavyweights Harvey Weinstein and Ben Silverman, art gallery mogul Larry Gagosian and a flock of socialites including Jamie Tisch, Brooke Davenport, Julia Sorkin and Kelly Katz.
Paris Hilton, of course, was there, and she didnt disappoint when it came time to leave. Before walking toward a curbside throng of paparazzi, she made sure she was camera-ready by ducking into the garage for a touch-up.
She had her compact out, an onlooker reported with a laugh. She did her makeup and fixed and flipped her hair. Seriously, she had to be doing that for a full eight minutes. She could have had her driver pull into the garage, but no, shes Paris. She just had to have her photo taken. |

Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan Return For Night At The Museum 2, Amy Adams To Play Amelia Earhart
The cast continues to come together for the highly anticipated sequel to Night at the Museum. We knew the film, subtitled Escape from the Smithsonian once again starred Ben Stiller, this time alongside newcomers Hank Azaria and Amy Adams, but now we know some other familiar faces are returning, plus who the villain is.
I am playing a fictional Egyptian pharaoh that comes to life, Azaria revealed to MTV News. Im the villain in the movie and have all sorts of nasty plans for modern society and poor Ben Stiller gets caught in the middle of it.
As for the rest of the cast, Azaria says that recent addition Amy Adams will in fact be playing Amelia Earhart and that many of the original cast are set to return. Owen [Wilson] is coming back and so is Steve Coogan and Ricky Gervais. And theres other fun folks too who havent officially signed on yet playing historical figures, he teased.
Thomas Jefferson? Queen Elizabeth? Who do you want to see in Night at the Museum 2″ and more importantly, who should play them? |

Jennifer Aniston has reportedly started a romantic relationship with actor Owen Wilson.
The pair are currently working together on the comedy Marley and Me, and according to the Daily Star, they have shared "candlelit dinners".
A source said: "They have a real spark together when theyre not learning their lines or shooting scenes together.
"Jennifer has been a real support to Owen and there is a real twinkle in their eyes. Theyve been friends for ages anyway, but its almost as though their relationship has developed.
"They have been enjoying candlelit dinners together when not working on set."

This is totally made up and started with the Daily Star, UK, one of the least credible, maybe THE least credible rags on the planet. Don't you remember, while Jen was filming TBU, they linked her with Owen Wilson, Geoff Stults and Vince. It's garbage. Take it with a gallon of salt. |

Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson spent Easter weekend together in Miami and this time, the on-again duo were joined by Hudson's son, Ryder, for a holiday bike ride.
After getting in some sunbathing, Hudson (accompanied by Ryder on one bike) and Wilson (with another young boy) rode through the busy streets of South Beach on Saturday before stopping for Starbucks on the less-crazy Biscayne Bay side of town. Mother and son even wandered into a drug store and a video store, where they picked up a new movie.
"They looked like a family on an afternoon outing, taking advantage of the balmy weather and doing some errands," says an eyewitness.
Wilson is due to start shooting more Marley & Me at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale Monday.

Owen Wilson a 'Big Poetry Fan'
By Amy Elisa Keith
Originally posted Wednesday June 18, 2008 01:00 PM EDT
Who knew? Owen Wilson has a touch of the poet.
"He's a big poetry fan, and I am too. So we email poems to each other," says Academy Award-wining actor Alan Arkin, 74, who recently wrapped the film Marley & Me alongside Wilson.
At the Los Angeles premiere Monday night of Arkin's latest film Get Smart, also starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, Arkin told PEOPLE: "We sent little poems to each other since the movie."
Wilson, 39, who recently split from actress Kate Hudson, also impressed Arkin with his ability to recite poems from memory.
"He's very literate ... enormously literate," adds Arkin. "He can quote a lot of great writers verbatim long passages."
Marley & Me, also starring Jennifer Aniston, is due out in December.
