Hi everyone! I've been looking through some of the threads about Jennifer's birthday book and it sounded like it was really fun and a great idea. I know there's nothing important coming up and something like the book would be really hard to organise so I was thinking if we could send her a DVD with videos of us on it. For the people who sent her the book, it would be a good way to say 'remember me?' and for the people who didn't, we could get to say hi .
But if its not too hard to do something written, I have a few ideas:
Make greeting cards (Best wishes/Christmas or something like that)
Personalised calendar with photos on one side and notes on the other (This would be practical for her to use as well)
Make Christmas tree ornaments (nothing breakable)
 Pendants for a charm bracelet
Quilt patches (too hard but I thought Id just mention it)
I personally prefer the calendar and the video. I really want to send Jen something before Christmas as by then she'll be busy promoting her movies and may not get the time to see it. This means we'll be a little pushed for time, but if everyone gets on board we can do this quickly. I hope you guys want to participate too . Unfortunately I won't be able to organise this and was wondering if someone else could? |

| I know Im still fairly new, but trust me, Id love to organise something like this. Kamia did a fantastic job for Jens birthday, but since shes not planning anything this year, Id be willing to shoulder the burden. It depends on how many people are willing to participate but Im sure some of you guys will want to. If you are interested, just say which of the ideas Catherine mentioned above you like or a completely different idea of your own. |

I really like your ideas, except for the video, (I don't want to send videos with me all around the world because of privacy), but we already discussed this once... to send her something once more (besides her Birthday) but people came with answers like this:
Quote: ...that could make it seem that we are taking advantage of knowing we can send things.
Quote: ...I have to agree. We don't want to seem overzealous. I think it is also more of a surprise for her then if she gets something every now and then.
And after I heard their opinions I had to agree with these girls. They had a good point and I still think they are right. |

| Your ideas are really nice Catherine but Susanne does make a good point. So youll have to check with Kamia, Bill and the mods but if they agree, then other members may take part. |

Hello all,
I don't want to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but...
We cannot take advantage of the good nature of the people that helped us with the birthday book. It's rare that something like this actually gets delivered to Jen. Not because she doesn't want them but because of the volume of "stuff" she gets.
We will likely do something like this again but not for some time.
Try and look at it from their side and ask yourself, "If I had the responsibility for Jens business and wellbeing, what would I do"?
Its a HUGE responsibility and the people that do it are very serious.
She knows we are here and I assure you she appreciates all of you. |

| ^ Exactly. Of course we all want to send Jen things so that she knows how much we admire her, but at the same time it's tough and think of it this way: she'll appreciate it more if it's rare. Keep those ideas until we do something like the scrapbook again and maybe we'll use one of them. If you do still want to send her something, try your luck with her fanmail address. That's the next best suggestion. |
