Aniston Center - Hollywood Lounge - John Mayer

ok here's the story- this past weekend my aunt connie, mom, Franny and I all went to Boston to see John Mayer in concert. we are all really big fans of his. once we arrived on friday we got settled and headed out to get a bite to eat. we ended up at the Parish Cafe right around the corner from our hotel. once we were done we were outside waiting for franny to get out of the bathroom when we heard a guy talking on his cell phone and heard him mention John Mayer. we thought it was strange how he was circling the area and being very serious. so my aunt, who claims i was the stalker but could tell you everything you want to know about the guy and his girlfriend and his band and where he lives and what he drives(get the point), looks over to see him eating on the patio of the restaurant we just came out of. we all just froze! we didnt know what to do. our first instincts were to of course run over and act like teenagers and get his picture and his autograph etc etc but our old age took over and we remained calm. i had my big camera with me and walked over close to where he was and just figured i would get a quick shot of him at the table but thats when he spotted me and gave me the oh my gosh are you really going to take my picture while i am eating look so i couldnt do it. he wasnt being nasty just tired, like i am sure any celebrity is of the general public.I also wondered if he thought I was the paparazzi. so i walked away and went back to the others. got a little more courage and then said screw it, i flew all the way up here from Florida to see him in concert and instead run into him by chance on the streets i'm gonna get a picture of him no matter what. so i walked back over took a few shots and walked away. he saw me after and i could tell he was saying something about me to one of his band members-i figured he was giving me a good cussin so i just walked on. i got back to the others and turned around to see him putting his napkin on the table and geting up and heading our way. we were all standing there with our mouths dropped open and he comes right over and says "ok come on lets take this picture girls, i know you're not leaving til you get it and i am hungry." it was light hearted and said with a slight smile and we were all in love! so i snatched some unsuspecting girl from the street and threw my camera in her hands and said take lots. she got 3 which was plenty for us. we chatted for oh about .5 seconds and then he turned and went back to his seat. what impressed us is we werent causing a scene, we werent yelling and screaming we were just hanging around with the 10 or so others doing the same(ok maybe looking a little bit like stalkers). he didnt have to get up and walk over but he did. and it made our trip. we just kept saying "WHAT ARE THE ODDS??"

then to add to this story the next night was the concert and it was in mansfield, MA aout 30 minutes away. we got there about an hour early and parked to tailgate til the concert. a few cars down was a group of people hanging out the same and we overheard them talking about the sighting of John Mayer in Boston. Thats when we perked up and started listening to all he was saying. He went on to tell the story of how John Mayer was eating in Parish Cafe and how he came out to take a picture with these 4 girls from Florida. thats when franny and I go running over screaming "that was us, that was us!" If you remember from the beginning of the story we saw the guy talking on the cell phone very seriously-well, believe it or not, this was his roommate that he had been talking to at the time of the chance meeting, at the concert and he had told his roommate this whole story who was now telling it to his group of friends at the concert who were 2 cars down from us!! we could not believe it!! WHAT ARE THE ODDS??!!

the concert was amazing. john mayer truely is a talented musician. he plays the guitar like nobodys business!!
