I haven't seen updates on this. Does anyone living in the LA area know if a law was passed. There was a lot of press about it in February. This is from Fox News. This CU guy, whoever he is shoved that camera within inches of Jen's face.

LOS ANGELES A city councilman on Friday proposed an ordinance to create a buffer zone between celebrities and the paparazzi who often swarm around them.
Councilman Dennis Zine said the measure would require several feet of space between photographers and celebrities to ensure a "personal safety zone."

| If Im taking more than my opinion share of space on this thread, please give me the hook, but it occurred to me as I looked at sites now running Jens pictures from Beverly Hills, that they pick and choose the ones they run to make their spin work whatever that spin is. For instance, X17 ran three of them indicating they were theirs, they were todays pictures and asking why hide, Jen and where is Johnny boy, but did not run one of their? photographer inches from Jens face. Our keeping of all the pictures and our comments, in my opinion, acts as an historical entry on what really went down and why our girl sought what protection there was at the time. We know why she covers her face. We have no hidden agenda. |

If the pictures were to stop and Paps were not interested anymore, I think Jen
would be very hurt and it would affect her career.
So even though it's inconvenient to have cameras in your face all the time,
it's more devastating not to.
I'm going to disagree with that. I don't think it would hurt her career at all if the paps stopped taking pics of her. Firstly the paps are making money off these pics so obviously it benefits them more than anything and that is the reason they take these pics of her. Her career does not depend on how many paps are following her. It depends on the movies she does and I don't think that has got anything to do with the paps. They started following her soon after Friends started airing so I personally just don't see it stopping anytime soon.
I'm really torn about which option to choose though. She has her face covered in a lot of pics out there and those pics would be posted on some blog out there and I'm one of those people who doesn't visit most of the blogs out there so I guess its convinient more than anything else if one posted all those pics here. |

It's hard to pick either of those options.
I have a Jen archive; my intention is to save every picture out there and sort them and whatnot. However, if the pictures show her sunbathing or shielding herself, I tend to pick one or two out of the bunch (i.e.: her sunbathing picture where she's playing with her iPod, because I wanna figure out what kind she has) and save them and leave the rest out. Because, while I feel it's a private moment or she doesn't want to be photographed, I want something to represent it.
There are sets though, where she seems to be angry/upset at the paparazzo and I just don't even open those.
I'm torn, really. Like mostly everyone said, these pictures are going to be posted elsewhere. We might as well post them here and leave it up to the jugdment of whoever views them. |

| Like so many others, I'm torn on this, but I think that ultimately, it's better to have pictures like that here than to lead people elsewhere (i.e. Just Jared) to see them. People are going to see the pictures somehow, so at least if the pics are here, people won't be giving sites like that as much traffic. |

I say post them.
To the people who want to respect Jen's privacy, all I have to say is don't buy the magazines where those pics come from.
I'm a professional photographer and I hate paps. They are people with no lives who just stalk others and get tons of money out of photographs like those, when there are people like me who spend years studying the science and art of photography and struggle to have a career. I am glad when Jen covers her face, that way the pictures are worth less, hence, the paps make less bucks out of them.
As humans, we are all voyeuristic by nature and we like seeing Jen doing every day stuff because we like to see she's a real person, just like all of us. She's not going to get angry because we see those photos. I am sure she's angrier at the magazines who buy and publish them. Though at this point I don't even think she cares, to be honest.
The point is, we are not giving the paps any profit out of looking at the photos online unless we bought them, and we're here to share them. We all love Jen, so I say let the pics up. This shouldn't even be an issue. |

Well, this went pretty much as I expected, and thank you everyone for commenting! I was really just looking for how everyone felt about this because, we will be getting many more of these as the promos for the 4 new movies ramp up; its just going to get worse before it gets better.
The other thing that prompted this was someone asked me why I dont use these on the home page ( like everyone else ) and, the reason is pretty much the same as what Domino81 and others were talking about.
It may be splitting hairs but having them here in the forum so we can talk about them, and using them as Front Page news are two different things. |

| However, after seeing photos being shot looking into Jen's house, that's where I draw the line... That's really pushing it. The paps shouldn't have done that... |

That's great. At least something is being done to give celebrities some space. I've seen what they've done to Britney and If I were her I too would lose my mind. |

| To all those people out there who have said that the paps have a right to always take pictures of Jen because it's her job, think of what your job is in reality... Does your boss have a right to call you on weekends or holidays to work or does your boss have the right to just show up at your home or hotel or wherever you are to ask you to do your work or ask you something related to your work regardless of whether it is a minor or major matter?? |

| I feel that the ONLY time its Jen's JOB to have her picture taken is at a movie premier or event of some kind that she is attending, when they are standing outside her home or following her car, its not her job at all. |

| I do feel that we should not post pictures of her at home. That is where things for me get uncomfortable. Home should be off limits. |

| I can't vote on this as well because like what the rest said if we don't post it here blogs and/ or websites will still do. Given how these other sites use these pictures to write some nasty comments or create stories about Jen, I'd rather see the pictures here where we talk about what she's wearing, how beautiful she looks and how excited we are with what's happening in her life. I don't want to give the not so friendly blogs/ websites more hits to see the pictures. But, I'd draw the line with pictures like the recent ones taken from the balcony or invasive ones which we don't post anyway. |

Well... I think images that tell something about her should be posted (like the ones with John), cause we love to see how she's doing! But, for example, the ones with the bag in her face should be kept...
Well, that's my opinion. |

I completely agree. Every human being, celebrity or not, has a right for private life. As much as I love to see pics of Jen or see what she's up to in general, I could very much live without papparrazzi pictures. When I look at a pic of her covering her face, I actually feel guilty for looking at it.
And I will never - not in a million years - understand why there isn't a law against this yet. It's one thing to take a picture and leave it, but to chase celebrities in cars, block their way, insult them just to get a rise out of them, follow them to their home, bother their families.... that's just not funny anymore.
To sum up: even though pap pics will be posted everywhere anyway, I think that we as dedicated fans of Jen should not jump on that wagon. |
