It started yesterday! Man, finally. I couldn't have waited much longer.
Turkey 0 : 2 Portugal
Switzerland 0 : 1 Czech Republic
I was so disappointed that Switzerland didn't win. They played so much better. Portugal won deservedly. :)
Today:
Germany vs Poland
Austria vs Croatia
I'm hoping Austria wins and will definitely watch the Germany game tonight. Can't wait!
So, who do you guys want to see win the European Championship? Who do you think will win? Are you disappointed or happy that England isn't participating? Do you have any favorite players? Do you even watch soccer? |

Hey Laura!
Yes I watch it, but only when the Netherlands has to play... But you watch almost all the games? |

I love soccer, and I'm a big fan of England but they didn't qualified so now I hope germany or italy win.
And today I was dissapointed because Austria deserved a tie cause croatia didn't play very well and Austria tried his best |

I was so disappointed that Switzerland lost, because they played pretty well. All the other results were fair. Germany, Croatia and Portugal totally deserved to win.
We're playing tonight against France. This is gonna be so hard, also counting that the other two teams in the group are Italy and Holland. |

I do watch football quite frequently but right now I can't make a call on who will win. I support Australia but since it is EURO 2008 Germany is my favourite. Two good goals from Podolski . I miss coach Klinsmann though. About England, It is strange that they're not playing but with all the management and injury issues they've been having I suppose it is a given. |

Woohoo to everyone who is for Germany! Woohoo to the German team last night. What a great game it was in the first half. They were a bit tired towards the end.

Saskia-Maria wrote: Did you saw it Laura? I just saw the last 30 minutes. I sure did. You missed the best part in the first half, though. They played brilliantly for the first 35 minutes. They easily could have won 5:1.
Group C ("the death group") will be interesting. I hope France and Romania get through. Especially Romania since no one really expects them to win.
foxy_roxy, you're not for the US when it's the World Championships? I also didn't know people outside of Germany miss Klinsmann. Although I really like Joachim Lw. |

3 - 0.
Things are looking grim for France. If they play like tonight, the Netherlands have a good chance of beating them friday. Then it all comes down to the France - Italy game for which I favor Italy.
On the England absence, Coldplay's Chris Martin told the following joke during a concert: "What does a England fan do after England has won the World Championships and the European Championships? He turns of his playstation..."
Great joke, also for the fact that the name of the country is interchangeable for any other. |

I agree, it was a beautiful game. Too bad for the referee mistakes. It's hard to see this kind of things happen to an European Championship. |

According to UEFA the Italian player lying behind the Italian goalline was still considered to be an active player, therfore making it a legitimate and not a offside goal. A strange rule, which is meant to combat unsportmanslike behaviour.
Good luck against Italy. It's gonna be a tough match. Italy has to win and definitely had a wake-up call yesterday. |
