LOS ANGELES (AP) ― The Screen Actors Guild negotiating committee has called for its board to support a strike authorization vote.

The committee adopted a motion Wednesday calling for the vote, saying it "is necessary to overcome the employers' intransigence."
Contract talks dealing with prime-time TV shows and movies have been at a standstill since it expired June 30 and actors have been working under the terms of the old deal.
A strike authorization vote would need the approval of 75 percent of the guild's some 120,000 members.

I honestly cannot see them voting to strike. Far too many below the line people suffered due to the writers strike and with the American economy in the crapper it would look pretty awful for these highly over paid actors to strike and subsequently put thousands of average-salaried people out of work. Not good PR for SAG. AMTPT and SAG both need to grow up and stop being so greedy and come to some kind of conclusion here.
