John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston
John Mayer spent his birthday with a very special friend: Jennifer Aniston.
The couple, who broke up in August, reconnected last weekend in New York, and were then spotted together in L.A. celebrating Mayer's 31st birthday on Wednesday night.
The bash was held at the Grand Havana Room, a members-only restaurant and cigar club.
After stopping by a party for pal David Arquette's new clothing line, called Propr, Aniston, 39, met up with the group, staying past midnight to ring in Mayer's birthday.
"They seemed to be having a great time," a source tells PEOPLE. "They were sitting next to each other. They're a very good-looking couple and seemed happy together."
It was their second outing in L.A. this week, following a dinner with friends the night before at the Sunset Towers.

John and Jen back together? Hmmmm?
Well on a serious note I will say we all know people who put their foot in their mouths and say things they don't mean or regret. We also know people who joke and laugh when they are nervous. We also all know people who say one thing and do another.
Was I ticked over it? Yeah. Did he seem different after this? He did. Were there weeks of phone discussions and talks? I'm sure there were! I have forgiven people in my life for far worse than that. He's got a big mouth and loves to talk, that in itself combined with the pain from a breakup can explode in a persons face.
Now on a light note I will reserve my decision to like or dislike this new romance until I see John without his shirt a few times, sweating. Maybe singing me a song....OK lets says at least 5 times...then I'll let you know(shallow of me I Know!) |

Mayer rang in his 31st birthday at exclusive Beverly Hills cigar bar Grand Havana Room October 15 - with back-on girlfriend Jennifer Aniston by his side.
The relaxed pair hung out on a private outdoor patio for several hours late in the evening. Mayer, at one point, affectionately stroked Aniston's hair.
The singer - whose actual birthday is October 16 - and the Marley and Me actress, 39, began a whirlwind romance in April, but split in August.
Look back at Aniston's former flames
On October 10, however, the two appeared to be back on. They took in a Ray LaMontagne concert in Boston and then spent the next couple of days in New? York City before flying to Los Angeles on a private plane.
Another public date followed on October 13, where they dined and drank wine with three pals at Sunset Tower's Tower Bar.
"They were holding hands at one point and seemed very much back on," a witness tells Us.

I stick by my opinion that People is still bummed that they lost the exclusive to National Enquierer and Star. Nicole said: in one line they're friends and a few lines after they're good-looking couple. I'm sure she went to Boston to be "freinds" with him *I'm rolling my eyes*. I think People doesn't know what hit them. Wake up and re-do the headquarters! |

I think People is doing the best job. Going overboard with the mediahyper is probably what caused some tension in the first place. We really don't need to know all the details, I suppose ;). Maybe People will take their gloves off soon.
also, i'm curious about pics too. was it a real birthday party? |
