Does this mean that I can post info on the FRIENDS DVDs that come out over here, too?
Because here's the DVD of Seasons 1-10 from the JUly 2004 issue of EMPIRE mag...
Quote: SMALL SCREEN Essential TV on DVD
FRIENDS:SEASONS 1-10
Season 10,Vol.3-5,2003 (...)
SO FAREWELL THEN,Ross,Rachel,Monica,Chandler,Joey and Phoebe.Friends is now The One That Finished After Ten Seasons. Now that it's gone,it's time to say that that, far from being an empty vision of yuppie heaven with conveyor belt gags,we've just lost one of the greatest-and most influential-American sitcoms of all time.
Friends presented an impossible dream>It gave us a glimpse of a New York lifestyle we'd all like to lead, where improbably large apartments are available to people who seem to work only nominally;where bed-hopping between a cabal of six friends never really upset the equilibrum;where the sofa in your favourite coffee house was always available, night and day.Yes,it was sick, yes it was glossy, providing its critics with easy ammo, but Friends was rarely less than consistently funny, boasting some of the finest acting and sharpest writing of any American sitcom.Ever.Period.
Unlike the one-dimesional blackhearts that peopled Seinfeld, this was a sitcom about nothing that was resolutely about something:friendship,of course. It veered dangerously close to soap opera territory at times(particularly in this final season,as the thuddingly dull Ross/Rachel saga twisted and turned unconvincingly),but the key to Friends was empathy:we genuinely cared for these characters as they developed. We've watched the emasculation of Chandler;the cunning development of Ross from a whiner into an uber-whiner,bringing David Schwimmer's physical comedy gifts to the fore;Phoebe's transformation from slightly sluttish kook into loyal wife;and Joey's subtle relocation as the heart and conscience of the show(which won Matt LeBlanc his forthcoming spin-off).
For its resolute perkiness and mainstream appeal,Friends will never be as critically celebrated as the more mean-spirited likes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and there were times when the standard dipped alarmingly-Season Five,anyone?-but we always had the Chandler-Joey double act,Monica in a fat suit and innumerable catchphrases-"I know!","We were on a break!","How yoo doin'?"-to bring us back.Simply put,it made us laugh like hell for ten years straight.Could there be a better epitaph than that?
DVD extras: The final set(Season 10,Vol 3-5) comes with three-part documentary featuring the reminiscences of high-profile guest stars,a decent but self-congratulatory documentary and an extended chucklesome gag reel.

From the January 26,2004 issue of Us weekly...
Quote: the record
Peer Pressure
A recent University of Toronto study has found that people use the word "so" more in conversations now-thanks to Rachel(Jennifer Aniston,34) and Phoebe(Lisa Kudrow,40),who often say it on Friends.

What the Stars Said This Week
"I've kind of become Monica a little bit,and she's become me a little be.And I think we're both going to be damn good moms."
(comment by the mag) On how her role in Friends has changed her,Courtney Cox.

Awww that's so sweet. Thanks.
Also, Matty is going to be EVERYWHERE this month.
He's on the cover of Tv Guide, Details, and Ladies Home Journal at the moment. He's also going to be on Leno on Sept 8th, Ellen on Sept 9th, the Joey show premieres on the 9th, and he'll be on the View on the 23rd. These are the only appearances I know so far, but I'm sure theyll be more. Probably Letterman when he's in NYC for the View. |

| I think the released of Season 7 was earlier than April because I got it on the first day, and I'm getting irritated 'cuz Season 8 is taking forever. |

Here-Paris,that is- Season 8 has already come out and I plan to buy this particular season.....at least!
Look what I've found in the September 27,2004 issue of Us weekly-and particularly in its special article on CSI: NY's "Crime Fighting Hunks" (By Jessica Mehalic):
Eddie Cahill
Friend-ly fans: "Hands down,I get recognised most for my role [as Rachel's assistant/boy toy Tag] on Friends. There's nothing bad about someone coming up to me with a big smile."

| I read that in US Weekly or InTouch that there was going to be a freidns reunion on Joey later this year, around may/june. But again this was from InTouch/US so i'm not sure how true it is. If it was that would be awesome! |
