I actually thought he was pretty good in that episode!

Anyway, he's not really a comedic actor. Most of his movies are drama or action.

Nicoletita, I agree! I always was uncomfortable watching that episode because he seems so uncomfortable. He is a great actor, but not so great at comedy - at least Friends kind of comedy. He seemed way out of his league. Which is interesting because so many people came on Friends and they just fit right in. Christina Applegate comes to mind.

I've only seen that epidsode once since he and Jen split and it just made me sad, so I haven't watched it again. I'm a sentimental fool... prozac

I think he is a good actor but not a good comedy actor.Jen said he was nervous maybe it was that.

Jonathan Storm | She shapes a sitcom, as a superior director

Quote:
A little 6.7 Richter thing, the Northridge Earthquake, postponed production. "All the sets fell down," Fryman said. "Then, right before we did the show in front of an audience, they announced that the show was not being picked up."

No problem. That spring, Fryman directed three episodes of a summer sitcom, Muddling Through, featuring someone named Jennifer Aniston. Fortunately for her, that one tanked too, because Friends was casting. It was only a coincidence that Friends exec producer David Crane was two years ahead of Fryman at Harriton, but she did get to direct episode four, "The One With the East German Laundry Detergent."

"The word went out," she said. " 'Well, Pam's done Friends.' "

She has been a full-time sitcom director ever since, most notably helming 33 episodes of Frasier.

For restaurant patrons, a crash diet

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- It looks as though Ross and Rachel are broken up for good.

An elderly man backed his car into a plate-glass window at the popular Golden's Deli in New Springville yesterday morning, wiping out a mural of most of the cast of the iconic sitcom "Friends" and making two patrons leap to safety.

Only Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) remained unscathed after the car -- a 2001 Mercury Sable driven by 81-year-old Anthony Bonanno of Annadale -- slammed through the window and ended up completely inside the Richmond Avenue deli.

Her caricature was on a different window, explained Ray Pannone, the deli's owner.

The mural cost several thousands of dollars when he first had it painted several years ago, Pannone said, and it won't be easy to replace.

"After so many years, now, you've got to find the artiste," Pannone said. "But again, nobody was hurt."

Raising shell

Whitfield, who co-starred in My Cousin Vinny as Ralph Macchio's pal and co-defendant, says being Donatello beats the reputation he has as the guy picked for Friends who was replaced by David Schwimmer.

"It doesn't bother me," Whitfield says. "People are always horrified for me, and sure, it would have been millions, but " his Turtle co-stars groan in disbelief as he says "I wouldn't be here now with you."

"Yeah, you'd be too famous!" Kelley jokes.

Whitfield's consolation: a recurring role as Jennifer Aniston's ex-fianc.

I saw when he said this on the red carpet tonight. Alot of people still watch the re-runs.

Quote:
Tom Wilkinson obsessed with Friends re-runs

Tom WilkinsonBest actor nominee Tom Wilkinson revealed on the Oscars red carpet he is obsessed with classic TV comedy series Friends.

The Brit star, up for an Oscar for his role in Michael Clayton, confessed its his favorite TV show.

And he told how he was stunned into silence when he met Lisa Kudrow who played dizzy Phoebe. He said: Im addicted to it.

I watch it every day, the re-runs and everything.

I really get irritated if I cant watch it.

Yesterday I met Lisa Kudrow. I was so tongue-tied and I blushed.

She must think Im a complete idiot.

It was like, Phoebe!
