QUOTE OF THE WEEK
You're damned if you're too thin and you're damned if you're too heavy. According to the press I've been both.

David
Letterman: Alright here we go. It's gonna be... I think this
is gonna be good. I'm always excited when we have a big star
on the show.
Paul: Yeah, me too... very excited tonight.
David: Yeah.
Paul: Ya know, I was reading about her performance in this upcoming
movie and it says she's "deliciously uninhibited"
in the movie. So I'm particularly excited.
David: That'll be my first question.
Paul: What will the question be?
David: I'll say "Is it true that you are deliciously uninhibited."
Paul: Okay, so now you can see why I’m so excited.
David: Yeah. Alright, our first guest is an Emmy-award winning
actress who stars in a new film entitled Along Came Polly, it
opens January 16th. Here's the very lovely, the "deliciously...
uninhibited" Jennifer Aniston!
(Jen walks out, people cheer, she waves, David kisses her hand,
you know the routine lol)
David: How are you doing?
Jen: I'm good, how are you?
David: I'm fine. You look fantastic, by the way.
Jen: Thank you. So do you, by the way.
David: No, no I don't, but you do. You really look great. And
since the last time you were here which, I think, has been quite
awhile...
Jen: Six years.
David: Six years? Really that long? Oh my goodness.
Jen: I know it's a long time.
David: Yeah, well nice to have you back...
Jen: It's nice to be back.
David: ...and many things have changed in your life since the
last time we saw you.
Jen: Yeah, a lot of things...
David: For example...
Jen: For example, I got married.
David: Now, you're a big star, and you married a big star. Brad
Pitt, right?
Jen: ...Yeah...sometimes.
David: So when you see something like this Britney Spears half-day
marriage, what do you think of that?
Jen: She really did half-day didn't she?
David: Yeah, it was like 10...14 hrs, something like that.
Jen: Yes, I am, no I'm not, yes I am, no I'm not... who do you
think initiated the "no, I’m not"
David: Haha. I think it had to have probably been her.
Jen: Yeah. you think...what happened in that little period of
time? I'm so curious.
David: I think it probably occurred to her "Oh my god,
I'm too big a star...
Jen: ...and who is this person?
David: ... to be married to this load.
Jen: Oh, you think?
David: I don't know, that's just conjecture on my part... I
don't know what I'm talking about.
Jen: You're probably right...
David: Uh, now in marriage generally, I know, having been married
myself I know that there’s a lot of pressure just to make
things go well on a daily basis but I’m wondering if it’s
great when you have two very well known, very well respected
motion picture and television stars in the marriage?
Jen: Well only because there’s two people that understand
what’s going on. But the hard part is living in a fishbowl
and, you know, kind of living your private life and your intimate
life sort of in front of people, and trying as hard as you can
to protect your privacy, ya know, for those brief moments that
you have it.
David: It drives you nuts, doesn’t it?
Jen: Sometimes, yeah.
David: And it must be… in your case I bet it’s relentless,
isn’t it?
Jen: It can be… it’s not as crazy as it seems, but
it’s ya know, it’s… interesting.
David: Now on… when you’re allowed a normal life
together, what is that like? Is it just like everybody else’s?
Jen: It’s so boring. It’s so uninteresting. We are,
ya know, ya stay home… well you know how it is, right?
It’s hard just to go out. You do, ya know with the “Harry”…
David: Haha, what do you mean “Harry”...?
Jen: …and the “woman” supposedly is “Harry’s
mother”.
David: Haha… well…
Jen: Is she…. I mean, is she like kept in… where
do you keep her?
David: I don’t… I don’t keep her anywhere.
What is so difficult to understand?
Jen: Yeah, but you know what I mean , it’s important to
keep that… it’s hard…is it hard to have people
probing… where is she, who is she, what does she look
like…ya know, what do you do on your weekends?
David: So I’m sorry, are you teaching me a lesson, is
that what you’re doing?
Jen: No…. I got very uh, ya know, very passionate about
that.
David: Yeah, you did. I appreciate that.
Jen: Deliciously so…
David: Now how about… yeah…oh!
Jen (to Paul): Oh hey, thank you. I don’t know what that
means but thank you.
David: …deliciously uninhibited…
Paul: Yeah, I know, I read it about your performance…
Jen: Wow…
Paul: … so Dave has a question.
Jen: …Thank you.
David: Haha…Let’s talk about the movie. It is very
entertaining and you are very appealing in the film. You play
kind of a uh… how would you describe that character…someone
who doesn’t really take things…
Jen: … too seriously?
David: …too seriously, right.
Jen: Yeah, she’s a little bit of a screwball, in a way.
Ya know, not one to commit to things; likes to live on the edge.
I think she’s really just fearful of intimacy at the end
of the day, ya know, like we all are. And uh…
David: I think…haha…
Jen: Yeah, so it’s fun… I like those kind of two
opposites attracting.
David: Yeah, right. Is there a little of you… of that
character in your own life?
Jen: Absolutely, sure…a little bit
David: And do you think you and your husband, BRAD…
Jen: Haha…
David: …will probably have a family someday? Are you looking
forward about that?
Jen: Yeah, really looking forward to that….especially
inviting the crews and all the people to watch and all that
sorta stuff.
David: Haha… you wouldn’t really do that, would
you? Oh my god…
Jen: No… haha… that’s not what I meant by
that.
David: That would be a best seller, that, I’m telling
ya… and how are things on FRIENDS? This is the last season,
obviously.
Jen: The last season, yeah, and we have one more show left to
do.
David: Is it like a special kind of interesting sort of a time
capsule show?
Jen: It feels that way. There’s a vibration on the set
now that is unexplainable… it’s, the whole thing,
it’s… heartbreaking...
David: Sad to leave everything behind…
Jen: It’s sad.
David: …everyone will you all go their separate ways?
Jen: Yeah.
David: And do you know what will happen on the last episode.
Jen: I don’t. I have no idea. We’ll get that on
Sunday, that script.
David: It’ll be exciting won’t it?
Jen: Yeah….I’m kind of dreading it.
David: Ten years… how many episodes is that?
Jen: That’s…oh God I don’t know… two
hundred and something.
David: Wow that’s a lot of work.
Jen: That’s A LOT of shows.
David: But the nice thing about it is it’ll be around
forever.
Jen: Yeah, whether you like it or not.
David: Alright, we’ll be right back with Jennifer Aniston
everybody.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
David:
What did you do on New Years Eve? Is that usually a big deal
for you? Do you stay home; do you go out, what do you do?
Jen: It’s such a horrible holiday, isn’t it?
David: It’s awful isn’t it?
Jen: …It’s always so much expectation. We went
to a party at a friends house, a small party, and then went
over to a Miss Courteney Cox’s house
David: Oh wow.
Jen: …spent the night and day with them.
David: Well that sounds like a really nice evening.
Jen: It was… it was really nice.
David: And uh do you mind if I ask you another question about
your husband, BRAD?
Jen: Sure, it’s what I’m here for.
David: How do uh people like you meet? I know that doesn’t
sound right, but how did that happen?
Jen: Very… I don’t know if I can tell you that.
I may have to… its private information… secret
land far, far away that they take the two people…
David: Hahaha.
Jen: Well we just got set up by two…
David: …mutual friends…
Jen: …our managers actually were friends, as corny as
that sounds.
David: So it’s nearly like a transaction, a how business
transaction.
Jen: it was slightly a transaction with some back end deals…
David: Do you remember what you did the first evening? Did
you have a good dinner?
Jen: We stayed, we ordered in food and that was it…
we never left that room.
David: Wow…
Jen: That’s a good date. No, meaning, you know, that
was it. We were pretty much…
David: Were you skeptical? Were you a little apprehensive
in the beginning, before it happened?
Jen: Sure, yeah, like always, I think. I was. ya know, are
you nervous, what if we don’t like what… ya know
dating, is hard. But thank god we didn’t have to…
it was a good date so.
David: And how long after that did you become engaged?
Jen: Uh, about 5 months after that, secretly.
David: That sounds great.
Jen: We actually… that was a good … we kept that
one to ourselves for awhile.
David: Yeah, and so three and a half years you probably should
be married?
Jen: Yeah.
David: Well, that’s just great.
Jen: Good, it feels good.
David: It makes that Britney Spears thing look like a stupid
film.
Jen: Well… poor thing.
David: Now uh we talked a little bit about the movie and you
and Ben Stiller. Go ahead and tell us a little but more about
the film and then we’ll take a look at a clip alright?
Jen: The film simply is a, ya know, it’s a slice of
life. It’s a funny love story. And it’s about
two opposites attracting. He is a risk assessment analyst
and I am a free-spirited wackadoodle and ya know we kind of
fill in the gaps for each other…and a kinda like that.
I stink at ever describing what a movie is. I mean I may as
well…
David: Oh no, you’re selling tickets.
Jen: Haha.
David: Don’t you worry about that.
Jen: Please go see it.
David: But when you make a film like this, is it all done
in California, or is some of it done on location?
Jen: It was a little bit in Hawaii.
David: In Hawaii?
Jen: Ya know, yeah, it was nice.
David: So the Caribbean scenes were actually in Hawaii.
Jen: Yeah, which were actually cheated for Hawaii.
David: And was it fun? Did you and Ben have a nice time doing
it?
Jen: Absolute time of my life. He is a dream boat. He is delicious
(looks at Paul) to work with. And ya know you just have fun,
you don’t know what’s gonna happen, it’s
like you just don’t know what to expect. I love it.
I love Ben.
David: Do you know what we are going to see here in the clip?
Jen: We do, oh yes. This is the scene where I’m about
to go dancing at the club that I dance at once a week and
he has given me a gift of something to help… I lose
things a lot because I’m a little flaky and I refused
this gift of a key-finder and now it’s kind of coming
back to….
David: You do a lot of dancing in the film. Did you have to
learn how to dance? Or did you already know how to dance?
Jen: I did… well you know I kind of had a little bit
of rhythm.
David: It was erotic, that dancing. It was erotic.
Jen: Slightly, yeah.
David: Hot.
Jen: Thanks Dave!
David: Made the back of my knees perspire.
Jen: Oh wow, that’s hard to do.
David: Oh yeah. Well not when you get to be my age it ain’t
that hard.
Jen: Haha.
David: Alright so this is a scene from Along Came Polly. Take
a look.
ALONG CAME POLLY CLIP
David:
You’re a little scatterbrained. What are you going to
do now? What are you going to do after the FRIENDS TV show
is over? What will you do just make movies?
Jen: Yeah, I hope so, or just wonder around the streets aimlessly.
David: Haha. That would be pathetic.
Jen: Wouldn’t that it pathetic?
David: And will you stay in touch with all the… there
must be somebody you don’t like.
Jen: Yeah, but you know we’re not gonna tell that here…
No, I love all of them. I know it’s gross but I do,
I love them. And we’ll see each other, yeah.
David: It’s been very good for everyone on the show.
Jen: It’s been the time of my life.
David: It was a lovely experience, and a lovely experience
to have you with us again.
Jen: Thank you.
David: I hope it won’t be six years before we see you
again. Thank you very much. Happy New Year.
Jen: Happy New Year.
David: The lovely Jennifer Aniston everybody. We’ll
be right back with Ryan Adams.
