Hi everyone.
In October, the girl i who worked with me in Ghana (Hazel) and I are doing a 10k run to raise money for the girls of Mother Teresa School, Senya Beraku, Ghana. We recently spent 6 months teaching the girls and now want to raise money to give something back after the incredible experience we had. The girls have been an inspiration to us and deserve the chance of a happy and successful future.
Senya Beraku is a poverty stricken fishing town, and the collapse of the fishing trade means there is very little work. Many families struggle to feed their children and the majority of girls have to work at the market after school, as well as studying, fetching water and helping to look after the family home. Despite their hardships, we were welcomed with open arms by everyone and were moved by their spirit and happiness, despite living in difficult conditions.
Hazel and I would like to help contribute towards the cost of building toilets at the school and eventually a feeding programme that would ensure every girl gets at least one meal a day at school. We also hope to get some sports facilities at the school, and provide better reading material and science equipment.
Please help us if you feel you can. 1 is enough to provide a girl with one meal a day at school for a month.
To donate you can use paypal. The account email is [email protected]
Thanks to you all for all your support before, during and after my trip |
