Jennifer Aniston has proposed to John Mayer, according to tabloid reports.

The pair recently rekindled their relationship (they split in August) after finding out Aniston was pregnant.

And now, according to Star magazine, the former Friends actress wants to make her relationship with the Gravity hitmaker official.

A source tells the publication, "John sent Jennifer a series of romantic emails - but she said she would only take him back if they got married, and he agreed.

"They both know this is it. She wants to settle down, and finally, so does he.

"They've even talked about having a family, and John said that he couldn't imagine doing it with anyone but her.

"They have been talking seriously about their future together."

I've lost track of the number of false pregnancy reports we've heard about Jennifer Aniston over the years -- both before, during and after her marriage to Brad Pitt.

Now comes another one, this time breathlessly pushed by Australia's New Weekly, claiming the father is John Mayer. The pregnancy tale is being touted as the reason the actress and the singer are seemingly back together, after splitting up earlier this summer.

An Australian weekly reports that actress Jennifer Aniston is pregnant, but sources can't deny or confirm the rumor.


I do find the story hard to believe and further doubt the explanation -- that Aniston is so obsessed with Angelina Jolie, she would get pregnant just to start competing with her ex-hubby in the child-rearing department.

(If that were true, the ex-''Friends'' star better get busy birthing a bunch of babies!)

However, having said all that, I do find it very intriguing that all my usual Aniston sources were totally mum on Monday.

''I have no idea. ... I really can't say,'' said a longtime Aniston pal who usually isn't shy about sharing gossip about her friend.

''Can't talk now. I'm in a meeting,'' cut off another Aniston insider and top studio exec.

Most surprising, was the fact Aniston's veteran publicist Stephen Huvane -- who is usually very prompt in quashing false rumors -- did not return repeated calls to his Los Angeles office Monday.

Could there be something to this?

Jen Wants John to Keep His Mouth Shut

As recently reunited couple John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston try once more to give romance a try, OK! has learned that that actress has put one big condition on her rock star boyfriend � Keep your mouth shut about our relationship and stop blogging about your personal life!

�Jen is fanatical about keeping her relationships private,� an insider tells OK!, adding that the former Friends star was �horrified" when John spoke publicly to OK! on a New York City street about their August breakup.

At the time, John ungallantly claimed he was the one who dumped Jen, giving startled fans and reporters a soliloquy about their split. �I ended a relationship because there was no lying,� he declared. �I ended a relationship to be alone because I don�t want to waste somebody�s time if something�s not right.�

John�s kiss-and-tell antics had Jen-watchers believing the singer was arrogant � and had exploited her for publicity. Months later, John would come back and beg Jen for a
second chance.

�She told him she wanted to get back together, too, but no more street-corner press conferences and blogging about her,� a Jen insider says. Desperate, John agreed.

John seems to be taking Jen�s ultimatum seriously � so far. He's been keeping mum to reporters in recent weeks, and in his Oct. 17 blog entry, he only raved about �brilliant� folksinger Ray LaMontagne, who inadvertently played cupid for the couple: Their first reunion date was at his Oct. 10 concert in Boston.
