John Mayer Talks About "Sleepovers" With Jennifer Aniston

On Monday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, John Mayer talks about girlfriend Jennifer Aniston's new high-tech house -- and admits he occasionally sleeps over.
"There is no normal thing in the Aniston house," he says. "You won't find a light switch. The light switch is not antiquated.
"There is a six-button light panel. It does everything," Mayer goes on. "The top button is on and the button right below that one seems to be an air horn, so in the middle of the night, it [can be] very difficult [to sleep]."
Aniston gets confused by her high-tech home, too.
Says Mayer, "The other day, I'm like, 'This is the most beautiful kitchen of all time. Where is the trash?'" Aniston, he adds, "didn't know where the trash was."
DeGeneres then puts Mayer on the hot seat, asking him if he sleeps over.
"Yeah, there are sleepovers, yeah," he says. "Yes, yes, there are."
Mayer also opens up about that infamous photo of him wearing a Borat-esque, one-piece bathing suit on his cruise.
"It is not photo-shopped," he says of the photo. "I sort of get drawn into the vortex when I look at it for too long.
"I have this cruise ... and the thing about a cruise is, everybody is supposed to let their hair down a little bit," he goes on. "I let a lot of hair down, but the fact is, that is something you're supposed to do for your fans. It's just plain silly."
Meanwhile, Aniston was on the DeGeneres' show Friday and admitted she isn't nervous about turning 40 on Feb. 11.
"I have to say, really, I feel better than I ever felt in my life," she said. "I did have a moment, though, over the weekend... I found a really long gray hair, and it kind of flipped me out.
"It's not my first, but it's the fact that it was so long," she said. "I was like ... 'How many others are there and what does that mean?' It actually brought me to tears, slightly.
DeGeneres then asked who will be going to Aniston's birthday party Saturday. Aniston said definitely her BFF Courteney Cox.
When DeGeneres held up a photo of Mayer (in a one-piece bathing suit), Aniston said, "I got to tell you, honestly, I almost don't want to touch it."
DeGeneres then commented on Mayer's swimsuit, and Aniston said, "The man�s got balls - what can I say?
"I think he's funny," she said, before adding, "let�s put [the photo] down now."

While Jennifer Aniston went into coy mode when Ellen DeGeneres pressed her on the topic of John Mayer, the five-time Grammy winner himself was only too happy to discuss life and times with Aniston, in an interview to air Monday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
And neither he nor DeGeneres was particularly shy about certain private details, either.
"Do you sleep over?" the TV host asks bluntly.
"Yeah, there are sleepovers, yeah," Meyer replies, prompting a "Wow" out of DeGeneres.
"Yes," Mayer repeats, "yes, there are."
"You have sleepovers," says DeGeneres. "That's cute."
One more time, Mayer says: "Yes, there are. There are sleepovers."
Inside Aniston's House
What prompted the discussion was DeGeneres and Mayer's recounting their both having been to Aniston's housewarming party for her new hi-tech residence.
As described by Mayer, "There is no normal thing in the Aniston house. You won't find a light switch. The light switch is not antiquated � there is a six-button light panel. It does everything. Mayer also admits it's all a bit too much. "I just want a switch that glows orange. Just give me a switch that glows orange, and I can swing my arm up [and turn on the light]. I don't want a smart-home button."
And That Swimsuit
Speaking of turn-ons, DeGeneres also asks Mayer, 31, about that revealing, thong-style green bathing suit he was caught wearing last year. He said it was part of his cruise wear.
"It's a cruise that I've taken doing in my spare time. I now have a cruise called the Mayer Craft Carrier," he explains. "I have this cruise, and we're hanging out, and the thing about a cruise everybody is supposed to let their hair down a little bit."
As for what he did, "I let a lot of hair down, but the fact is that is something you're supposed to do for your fans." But, he adds, "It's just plain silly." |
